Capel Fete
The Capel Fete committee has met and regrettably, the annual fete as we know it will not run in 2021. The usual date of the first weekend in July is just too close to the provisional Government date for the full easing of restrictions. The event takes months of advance planning by volunteers and there are simply too many unknowns in terms of restrictions, liability and safety for us to deliver a fete we’d be proud to run. The committee is, however, making enquiries as to whether a late summer, one-day event may be possible - an informal community gathering for the parish to enjoy. We are monitoring the Government's roadmap progress, consulting with TWBC’s events department and the HSE, and are speaking with our insurers to establish what we can organise and when. Please check our Facebook page, our website and the Capel Parish magazine for updates. The committee always welcomes new members and ideas, so don’t hesitate in contacting us at capelfete@gmail.com. ... See MoreSee Less

Capel Fete
Ahh, what would have been......right now we should be setting up for an amazing community weekend, with Capel Fete-ival & Capel Fete usually hosted this weekend. 😞Sadly, it's not to be in 2020. The committee is still hopeful of an event in some form later this year, when we are allowed to gather in numbers again, but we're already thinking of ways to come back bigger and better next year 👊So tonight, raise a glass and toast our wonderful village and parish, which continues to stay united in these unprecedented times. 🥃🍹🍸🍺☕️ ... We are regretfully cancelling the 2020 Capel Fete and Fete-ival. We are determined, however, to bring you a community event in 2020 but as you can imagine, our original dates of 3rd & 4th July may not be compatible with current restrictions. We have a number of exciting ideas in the pipeline - one of which will come to fruition as soon as it's feasibly possible. Stay tuned to our social media channels for updates - Twitter and Facebook - as well as capelfete.com. Stay well - stay at home. ... See MoreSee Less
